Personalisation Policy

Hello and welcome to Gift It Different!
Creating personalised gifts is what we love most. Every personalised item is made especially for
you, so we want to make sure it's just right. We've written this guide in plain English to explain how
our personalisation process works and help you get the very best results. If you're ever unsure
about anything, please get in touch – we're always happy to help.

Checking Your Personalisation

Please take a few moments to carefully check all names, dates, spellings, punctuation, capital
letters and special messages before placing your order. We'll personalise your item exactly as
you've entered it. We check every order before printing and, if something doesn't look quite right,
we'll contact you before we go ahead. However, we can't always spot every mistake (for example
an incorrect birthday or anniversary date), so it's important that you check everything carefully
before completing your order.

Need to Change Something?

If you notice a mistake after ordering, please contact us as soon as possible. If production hasn't
started, we'll always do our best to amend your order. Unfortunately, once production has begun we
may not be able to make changes.

Personalisation Fields

If a personalisation field isn't required, you can simply enter 'NONE' where appropriate. You're also
welcome to leave extra instructions in the personalisation box if there's anything you'd like us to
know.

Custom Requests

Many of our products can be adapted beyond the options shown on our website. If you have a
special request or would like different wording or a bespoke design, please get in touch before
ordering. We'll always do our best to help.

Proofs

We don't normally provide proofs before printing. The exception is our Photo Lap Trays, where we'll
send you a digital proof after you've ordered but before printing so you can check the layout. For all
other personalised products, we'll print using the information you've supplied unless we've
contacted you to clarify something.

Photo Gifts

Please upload the highest quality photograph you have, as the finished print can only ever be as
good as the original image. If you're unsure whether your image is suitable, simply email it to us
before ordering and we'll happily take a look.

Uploading Photos

Most photo products allow you to upload your images directly on the product page. Wherever
possible, please upload the original photograph rather than a screenshot or image downloaded
from social media.

Please Don't Crop Your Images

Please send us the original photograph whenever possible. Even if you only want one person or pet
from a group photo, don't crop it yourself. We'll crop and position it professionally to achieve the
best result. If there is more than one subject, simply tell us which one you'd like us to use.

Screenshots & Social Media

Please avoid screenshots and images downloaded from social media wherever possible, as these
are often lower quality and may result in blurry or pixelated prints.

Photo Orientation

Think about the shape of your photograph compared with the product you're ordering. Wide
(landscape) images usually suit wide products, while tall (portrait) images may need cropping. We'll
always try to keep the important parts of your photograph visible.

Colours on Screens

Please remember that colours can appear slightly different on phones, tablets, laptops and
computer monitors because every screen displays colours differently. We do our very best to
ensure the finished product matches the design shown on our website as closely as possible, but
slight variations between what you see on screen and the printed product are perfectly normal.

We Can Scan Photographs

If you don't have a digital copy, we can scan printed photographs for you. If you're local, you're
welcome to visit our workshop, or you can post your photograph to us. We recommend using a
tracked postal service when sending original photographs.

Copyright

By uploading photographs, logos or artwork, you confirm that you own them or have permission to
use them. Gift It Different cannot accept responsibility for copyright infringement relating to
customer-supplied images.
